Next I was to meet a Late Imperial Byzantine army under Basileus Thodoris Galanis
Once again I got terrain, managed to out scout my opponent and fellow player by 10%

Lucky Japanese

Knowing his army to be very mobile, to have many skilled bows ( foot and mounted) I expected a hard battle and took a defensive stance.
.I decided to dismount my bushy as I considered them more useful as foot PB skilled vs the huge mounted force I was facing

A Basileus thinking about his next moves

A mounted ally , some archers amongst whom 8 skilled bases

My deployment very defensive but he is more much more mobile than I am

Both armies

I was rather surprised by his very agressive charge with AV mounted bow and spearmen vs my loose foot samurai . Well it will be a close call ! The cavalry will be destroyed but not before my foot samurai will be reduced to 3 bases. I will use the pursuit to advance with my spearmen who joined the fray

The Murakami holding the byzantine cavalry at bay . My dismounted bushi are trying to kill his skilled bows before they get into 4 MU range. It will scare them and they will retreat

The fight is on

But my SUP LS will make the difference and kill the cavalry before it manages to disengage.
On the right side you can see how my ashigaru pursued a mounted shooty TUG that mismanaged it's skirmish. The mounted will win as their white dice will systematically hit where my greens will fail. Later on they will even kill the remnants of my foot samurai
My forces ( SUP LS ) pursuing the routing cavalry they were fighting, will go in some archers on foot and another cavalry TUG that will also fail it's skirmish and kill both units. The Murakami combined shooting will finally kill one mounted TUG
The game will end 12-6
So I was the leading player ( to my big surprise )
