The theme was globally "antique" . This time I used an Etruscan army with gallic and samnites allies

The first opponent would be Kostas and his Persian Royal Achaemenid

I expected to be out scouted and it did happen

Deploying the army

Persian infantry

My gallic ally

The samnite ally part of my workhorse

The close order infantry and the samnite "light" cavalry

Some elite persian cavalry and skilled shooters

If I wanted points I would have to go for it

Shield cover is interesting but shoot&charge is also a bonus

Going forward but slowly . Did not have the colours for a rush

The white linen legio is going towards the exceptional persian cavalry

The Etruscan heavy infantry goes in and will be joined by the Etruscan cavalry

Still manoeuvring and running after cavalry can take a long time to reach a conclusion

But finally we fight. 6 bases of exceptional persian cavalry vs 8 SUP and 8 average samnites infantry, all samnites being ME . It will be a very very hard fightI was loosing for some time then wining again

On the other flank I was slowly losing the fight

The Samnite cavalry is wondering: should we go in ?

Trying a desperate charge with the gallic chariotry to save the flank

Ready for the "final" glorious charge

Basically, my charges and fights went rather well and I managed to break his army but it was rather close.
The result 15-6 does not give enough credit to Kostas's play as it was quite a near thing rather balanced till the charge of the etruscan heavy infantry in the center and the gallic chariotry saving the day on my right flank ( I still lost my cavalry, the KAB killed my infantry ..)
A nice game
