Agammemnon rides to Death or Glory. The theme was any army up to 360 BCE . Many players did choose an Assyrian army and I was to meet 3 of them . So we were 12 players, four Sargonid Assyrian, one Neo-Assyrian, two spartans, one Thessalian ( classical greek ), one classical Indian, one Lowland Gallic, one early Achaemenid Royal and my Trojan war Achean host
Why that army ...simply the year before I had bought a bronze trojan horse when visiting Rodos so ...I just wanted to have it on the field and did not care about winning or loosing, just use it .
My first opponent was to be Pierre Joucla and his Sargonid Assyrian army. I out scouted him by 10 % and choose to attack as I wanted slow him down

Achilles is reliable
My deployment is rather conservative but I had scarcely time to test my army. The Myrmidons will fight on the left. My chariotry is grouped with my "hoplites"

Agammemnon holds the right with a mobile chariot TUG to delay the opponent
My unprotected archers act as a thin defensive line

Both armies facing each other, the dreaded SUP chariotry is clearly going to attack my right flank, some SUP and exceptional infantry face my tribal close infantry

The Trojan Horse

Achilles easily recognisable

My plan was very simple and straightforward, attack with Achilles, Nestor and hold with Agammemnon

But mounted shooty shoots and I lost a chariot . But basically I knew the risk and charged 3 MU away as to force the Assyrian cavalry to retreat (skirmish) and get close to the end of the world. Meanwhile the myrmidons advance as do Nestor's chariotry and hoplites

Pierre-Alexandre is perplexed

The assault. I wondered why the Assyrian infantry did not fall back before my advance ..the CIC being mediocre he did not have the needed cards ...so stayed to fight it out

In the center my chariotry goes in for the SUP infantry and an Assyrian SUP infantry dares charging my hoplites, 6 vs 16 bases

The results of my charges were quite abnormally good His right flank s wipped out

His cavalry managed to charge Nestor's chariotry in the rear but inflicted only a wound so I turned , fought on red vs white
His SUP infantry did nearly nothing vs my hoplites and were decimated by my AV hoplites. On the other flank I had blobbed his DC chariots and managed to trap them with my skirmishers in their back preventing any breakoff and prepared a flank charge with the small chariotry TUG that had slowed them down long enough
He broke and the game ended 15-0 , his only defeat as Remontada Pierre-Alexandre will win all his other games 15-something
Some other games round one and the venue
