Ribble Rumble round 2

For the next game I was to meet Matthew Pole and his 5805 Almoravid army

As a reminder my list

Het got a protected flank which is also nice to me as I feared his berber skirmishers that could seriously botter me on my flanks .

I felt an urgent need to reinforce my right flank with what I had available, infantry to face a cavalry potential deadly threat hoping drilled would help. Meanwhile the cataphracts and the tagmata do go into the fray

On my left flank ( again ) I try to slow down his assault and wonder how to tackle his infantry as some are quite good : SUP, LS or exceptional black guard SP.

There is a gap on my left but his infantry is slow and his cavalry is still checked by mine

Now my drilled infantry is useless on my the flank as my cavalry won all melees and I am threatening his camp and coming back to outflank his center

I fear I will loose some infantry but the Varangians are ready

My left flank still plays hide and seek with the Almoravid assault force,

Anyway I am under heavy pressure but the fall of the Almoravid camp, the flank charge by the Normans will help break his army

The unexpected will happen here ...my unprotected prokoustatores had managed to kill a few bases from the spearmen and will manage to break that UG for a timely unexpected victory and end result of 15-2 in my favour

Thank you Matthew for the nice game and your unlucky dice
